Recently, a truck driver was off-loading 94% sulfuric acid. During the off-loading process, a pressurized 3-inch hose uncoupled, saturating the victim with sulfuric acid. The victim rinsed in an on-site chemical shower and was immediately transported to the hospital. MSHA awards $8.4M in state grants in 47 states

ARLINGTON, Va. –The U.S. Department of Labor’s Mine Safety and Health Administration has awarded $8,441,000 in grant funding to 47 states and the Navajo Nation to reduce mining accidents, injuries and illnesses by supporting safety and health training courses and other programs.
