MSHA reminds the industry that electricity can be dangerous and caution must be taken when working around energized circuits. There have been three electrical fatalities since August. While some of the voltages involved in these incidents are not all that common to the majority of miners (4,160 volts and 995 volts), one of them occurred through unintentional contact with “household” voltage (120 volts).
